Laboratory Service
Laboratory testing can be expensive, but these tests are very important to help your physician offer you the best care. The Laclede County Health Department offers a “Laboratory Service”, where your physician can order special tests at a low cost for you.
To participate in this program, you must:
(1) Have no type of health insurance that covers laboratory services, and
(2) Have your physician write an order for the specific test(s) you need.
We ask that you and/or your physician check with our office to ensure the test(s) you need is on our approved listing. New tests can be added to the list, but we need at least 1-2 weeks’ notice.
Once our office receives the test reports from the laboratory, we send the reports to your physician’s office (Tuesday – Thursday).

There is a $10.00 draw fee for supplies for each visit.

Below, we have listed just a few of the most common tests with current fees.
These tests and prices are subject to change at any time.

Hepatic (Liver) Function - $5.75

Immunizations at the Health Department
For years, immunizations have been a major service that local public health departments were able to offer community residents.  We still offer a variety of immunizations; however, guidelines on “who” qualifies to receive them have changed.
