Blood Sugar Testing

• Investigation for reportable diseases/illnesses for Laclede County residents

Community Laboratory Service
• Physician order required
• $10.00 draw fee, plus lab test fee(s)
• If testing not on our approved list is needed, please call ahead of draw date for approval

Diabetic Foot/Nail Care
• Appointment necessary
• Doctor’s order required

$20.00 per visit
Laboratory testing charges

• Eligible for only those without health insurance
• Laclede County residents only
• Limited to 2 Doctor’s visits per calendar year
• Clinic office open Wednesday morning & Thursday afternoon only (532-6443)

Head Lice Checks
• Client is assessed for live lice and/or nits

Hemoglobin Testing
• Fingerstick

$3.00 per test

Immunizations
• Children – Provided through the MoDHSS Vaccine For Children (VFC) Program

• Adult – If not provided by MoDHSS, there will be a charge for the vaccine

Influenza Vaccinations (Seasonal)
• Provided through partnership with VaxCare
•Medicare billing through VaxCare. No HMO insurance accepted.
•Fee for self-pay or private insurance clients

Lead Testing
• Fingerstick
• A high reading will require a physician follow-up and further laboratory testing at client’s own expense.

Maternal Child Health – Injury Prevention Education
• Wide variety of safety educational presentations

Mental Health Medication Management
• Client must provide doctor’s order and own medication

Pregnancy Testing/Counseling/Referral
• $5.00 charge for test

Sexually Transmitted Disease Testing/Medication/Referral
STD Testing/Couseling/Referral
$5.00 per visit

• MoDHSS guidelines apply

Special Activities, as Physician Directed (e.g.: Dressing Changes…)
• Must have current doctor’s order

Tuberculosis Testing/Medication/Case Management
•$5.00 – 1st Testing
$10.00 – 2nd Testing – Missed Reading

Vital Records
• Birth Certificates - $15.00
• Death Certificates - $13.00 (1st copy), $10.00 (additional copies at same order time)

Women’s Health

$25.00 – Annual Visit + Supply Charges + Labwork
• Breast & Cervical cancer screening
• Self-Breast education
• Birth control supplies and/or prescriptions
• Appointment necessary

The Laclede County Health Department was established in 1942 with one public health nurse. Currently, Lois Curran, RN serves as our Director of Nursing with a staff of 4 RNs (Terre, Bobbie, Roxan & Tammy) and 2 LPNs (Twila & Shelly). Our Nursing Department is most known for the immunizations provided to area children. In fact, during 2010 our staff provided nearly $70,000.00 in vaccines to area children, at no cost to the families. We also provide numerous other services in this department, including: blood pressure checks, laboratory services, tuberculosis testing, sexually transmitted disease testing/treatment, women’s health services, and a community doctor’s clinic (services provided on a limited basis by volunteer hours of Dr. Ron Glas, and office staff Tena & Pamela). Our nursing staff has many years of professional experience and appreciates the opportunity to assist you with your public health needs.
